Samsung has started rolling out its first firmware update for the international unlocked variant of Galaxy S10. This update is applicable for SM-G973F models, which are powered by Exynos 9820 SoC.
The update bundles a number of stability improvements of the camera, as well as it fine tunes the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for better recognition.
In case you are curious, the option to remap the Bixby button to launch any stock or aftermarket application has already been provided via an updated Bixby service app on this model. Users need to visit the Galaxy Store to check for updates or can install it manually by grabbing the APK.
The upgrade also includes the February 2019 security patches. According to the OEM, a dozen Samsung specific vulnerabilities have also been fixed with this security patch.
The full changelog is as follows:
– Security patch level: 1st February 2019
– The stability of Camera has been improved.
– The performance of Fingerprint recognition has been improved.
As you can see, the build number of the new update is G973FXXU1ASBA – tad different from the factory installed G973FXXU1ASAT build. The CSC descriptor is G973FOXM1ASBA, although it probably has nothing to do with regular users.
The update weighs around 520 MB and should be available for download already.
For now, a marginal number of people actually got their hands on the handset. Thus it can be speculated that retail phones may come with this update (or newer) pre-installed out of the box.
Some users have reportedly received a similar update on their T-Mobile branded Galaxy S10.
The US models, whether unlocked or carrier branded, are based on Snapdragon 855 SoC. Their bootloader is permanently locked, unlike the global Exynos models.

Being a new piece of technology, it may need some extra polishing. The Korean OEM is trying to fine tune it by providing these day-one updates.
