If you are a fan of rally racing games, you must have heard of Dirt series. Codemasters Studios were the first to make their mark in 1998 with their title Colin McRae Rally. The game received admiration and commercial success worldwide, which led to the development of new titles in the Colin McRae Rally series.
The word Colin McRae for the game was inspired by World Rally Championship driver Colin McRae, who helped out in the development of the game. After Colin McRae death in 2007, they shifted to a new moniker ‘Dirt’.
The twelfth title in the series ‘Dirt 4’ became very popular among the fans. Dirt 4 featured time staged events and off-road racing in varying weather conditions. The game featured five locations including Fitzroy (Australia), Tarragona (Spain), Michigan (United States), Värmland (Sweden), and Powys (Wales).
Dirt Series has not been easy to play for beginners, whereas the basic races of NFS and Forza can be completed and learnt pretty easily.
Dirt 4 was released back in 2017, but now the fans are waiting for the release of Dirt 5. However, the developers released Dirt Rally 2.0, the sequence to Dirt Rally which was released in 2015. Dirt Rally 2.0 is the first game which has been developed by Codemasters after the departure of game director Paul Coleman who steered the Dirt series for a long time.
There is no official word from Codemasters Studios yet on whether they will be will develop successor of Dirt 4 or not.
In the words of the community, Dirt 4 offers better car weight, whereas Dirt Rally 2.0 has some great quality graphics. The handling of Dirt Rally 2.0 is also not much impressive. Players have also complained about the Force Feedback update, which they think is not good.
Players hope that Codemasters will fix these issues in the next instalment of Dirt series, which is expected to be released in the year 2020. We are keping a close on Dirty Rally updates, and we will update the information as soon as its announcement hits the floor.
