Oppo unveiled the latest iteration of its custom UI, the ColorOS 7 back in November 2019 in China. An initial timeline for the ColorOS 7 update plan was rolled out back in November which was later updated (taking into account the issues due to coronavirus outbreak).

Just a few days ago, we have reported that a fresh batch of ColorOS 7 updates has been pushed for the early adopters of Reno 10x Zoom, Reno 2, Reno Ace, Find X, R17, and R17 Pro devices.

Note that it was the ‘second batch’ of updates for the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, Reno 2, R17 and R17 Pro, while Oppo Reno Ace and Find X were getting their ‘third batch’ of early adopters update.

Then yesterday, we reported that the Chinese OEM, Oppo has shared some fresh new details regarding the ColorOS 7 update plans for its devices.

The OEM has planned beta tests for ColorOS 7 on the Oppo Reno2 Z beginning from 16 March, while the RX17 Pro (aka R17 Pro) will get the updates starting from March 27.

Now, as per recent developments, Oppo has temporarily suspended the ColorOS 7 early adopters update for Reno 10x Zoom, Reno 2, Reno Ace, Find X, R17, and R17 Pro devices.

As explained by Oppo in an official post, the reason behind this suspension is that the aforementioned devices have been delivered with incorrect update packages resulting in an installation failure.

Some of the Android 10 early adopters on Oppo Reno Ace, Reno 10x Zoom, R17/R17 Pro, Reno 2 & Find X have been delivered incorrect update packages, because of which it fails. As a result, the early adopters prog on thee devices has been temporarily suspended and the buggy firmware has been removed. Also, those who were able to upgrade successfully can continue using the version without an issue, and in case they encounter a bug, they can report via feedback.

Moreover, as per the official post, the users who have already applied for the program are suggested not to upgrade their phones with the latest version as of now, as it is being fixed.

Users should also note that their early adopters’ qualifications will not be affected because of this issue, meaning that if you were successful in enrolling yourself in the program then, you are still in the program.

Update 1 (March 9)

As per an official announcement, the correct firmware packages are now rolling out for Reno 10x Zoom, Reno 2, Reno Ace, Find X, R17, and R17 Pro devices. According to the post:

“The verified firmware version has been pushed normally, and users who have already applied for early adopters can normally detect and upgrade”
