Google Chrome 79 showing transparent line under bookmarks bar? Developers are aware

Google Chrome 79 went live via stable channel a few days back. To recall, this update brought in some new features like debugging why a cookie is blocked, view cookie values, debug why a network resource was requested, new cursor navigation shortcuts, etc.

However, the release is plagued with issues so far. Chrome 79 users are now reporting another bug that shows a transparent line under the bookmarks bar. In some cases, it might show up as black as well.

Google Chrome (rather Chromium project) developers have come forward and accepted this bug that has surfaced on the v79 update. They have also outlined the root cause that is responsible for this issue. 

As reported by the developers, a desktop background with solid color reproduces this transparent or black line under the bookmarks bar. To the contrary, one user faced the glitch even after not using a dark solid background.

I am on `Version 79.0.3945.86 (Official Build) (64-bit)` and I can confirm that I am seeing the issue. I do not use a solid color background but instead I use the slideshow background where ChromeOS curates random images for me. I see the same line of transparent pixels which allow me to see through to my background.

Several Chrome users on various platforms have reported that they are experiencing this bug right after v79 update.

You can bite the bullet and try out different desktop backgrounds to see whether it fixes the graphical glitch or not. Else you can wait for a bugfix update that is expected to come out soon.

Keep in mind that there is no fixed date as of when a bugfix update will be pushed for the Chrome 79 for resolving this issue. We will keep you in the loop and will update our readers, once we have more information in this regard.
