Apple doesn’t allow their users to alter all the default options, be it on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, or watchOS. They always want to stay on top of the consumer in terms of controlling the firmware. Irrespective of that, you can always get around this concern through unofficial ways.

Dubbed as jailbreaking, it is a process of digging deep into the filesystem so that a user can experience advanced privileges to make changes a native operating system doesn’t permit. On the contrary to iOS or iPadOS, the number of options available for Apple Watch is limited.

It’s been a while since a developer teased a watchOS 4.0-5.1.2 jailbreak (brenbreak). While everyone was curious to get their hands on it by Q4 2020, a change of plans occurred behind the scenes. Going by the statement on the official site, technical glitches are hampering the immediate release.
watchos jailbreak brenbreak

brenbreak isn’t going to hit its weird semi-planned Q4 2019 release. Here’s why:

  • Distributing brenbreak is an issue now with Impactor and signing apps in general.
  • With replacing the exploit used in brenrbeak, more versions like 5.1.3 and 5.2 are going to be supported, but reliability issues on S1/S0 are being worked on.
  • Series 4 takes up a lot of work for such a small version window but is being worked on by someone who gave us PAC-less.
  • brenbreak could have been released like a modern KPP-less jailbreak months ago, but that’s…pointless on anything that isn’t an S4, and as it turns out, finding kernel patches for newer versions (iOS 12+ and watchOS 5+) is rather hard when everyone keeps their patchfinders closed source. No ETA has gone live as of now. Probably because they are busy working on the jailbreak that it may be impossible to comment on the arrival at the moment. But, keep track of this story to know when it becomes available for everyone.
