Today, we don’t need support for a third-party device to play YouTube videos or your favourite shows on the television. A smart TV helps you to even get yourself immersed in games without Xbox or PlayStation.
With that being said, people still buy non-smart TVs. And, those who already own such television sets opt for ways to make those smart. So, how exactly can you do that? Well, there are Android TV box, Amazon Fire TV Stick, and NVIDIA Shield TV.
In case you are the Cupertino firm fan boy, you might have wrinkled your forehead not to see Apple TV above. Yeah, it is a digital media player or microconsole which can receive audio and video signals to play them on a connected display (enough to make your TV smart)!
Steve Jobs was alive when its first generation hit the market. Yes! It happened twelve years ago, exactly on 9 January 2007. The fifth generation came out in 2017, with the capability to render 4K content.
You know how it is with an Apple product! They impose restrictions to limit the user from crossing the set-boundaries. Of course, you get HDR support and a feature-rich remote control. But let me walk you through a few can’ts of a regular Apple TV.
- No permanent app sideloading
- Unavailability of themes
- Can’t play different Zelda music in different areas of tvOS
- Unable to get ROMs onto your emulator
- Can’t connect to a PlayStation or Xbox controller
Guess what! You can do all these and a few more if you have a jailbroken dvice. But, as an Apple TV 4K user, the question ‘how’ is going to rack your brain. Don’t worry! You may soon have a successful method to jailbreak your Apple TV 4K.
We could spot a tweet that shows a successful jailbreak on this particular media player. Given the current package for tvOS is incompatible, we will update this story with the detailed steps soon. Nonetheless, you need to bear in mind that it needs some manual dissembling.
