Black Shark S logo lighting bug after latest update gets acknowledged, fix coming soon

The Black Shark was unveiled in April 2018 as the Xiaomi subsidiary’s first gaming-focused smartphone.

At the time, it became one of the most cost-effective ways smartphone enthusiasts could get their hands on a Snapdragon 845-powered device with up to 8GB RAM and a massive 128GB of internal storage.

No doubt an excellent combination for mobile gamers, but it gets even better when you throw in gaming-focused things like Shark Space and the Game Dock feature inside it alongside accessories like a joystick and Gamepad.

But the one thing that also got many going for the Black Shark is the illuminating S logo on the back of the phone. Unfortunately, though, this logo is no longer lighting up as it should after the most recent software update.

We reported about the Black Shark update that came with October security patch. This arrived last month and even though the company included tons of bug fixes and performance optimizations, it’s now emerging that the update also tagged along this annoying S logo bug.

On the brighter side, the Black Shark team has already picked up this issue and is currently working on a solution. When ready, the fix will be pushed to the device via a software update, but we can’t be sure when it will arrive.

The November security patch for the Black Shark is due, but we have no way to tell whether this is the version that will fix the S logo bug. Still, it’s great to know that a fix is in the works and it will be released soon.
