New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on March 11, 2020) follows:
At times when Google has already pushed the Android 11 Developer Preview 1.1 update, OEMs like Asus are still taking time in rolling out the Android 10 updates. Users of the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 are awaiting the update for quite sometime now, which looks a distant dream as of yet.
It all began back in January 2020, when the OEM pushed the Android 10 beta update for the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1. Just a day after the rollout, there were several user reports about the bugs that the Android 10 beta update brought in for the device.
Since there was no information about when the OEM will fix the bugs on the beta update, those who wish to try out the Android 10 OS on their ZenFone Max Pro M1, could install the unofficial Lineage OS 17.1.
Amidst all of this, adding salt to the wound, Asus started rolling out assumably, February 2020 patchset for the ZenFone Max Pro M1 with some fixes for the device as well. This also made it clear that the stable Android 10 update is nowhere in the cards for the phone.
But this might come as a breather for the users of the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, as per a user report the stable Android 10 update for the device is expected to arrive by the end of March or the beginning of April.
The tweet also includes a screenshot of what looks like a response from Asus chat support, which states that the Android 10 update is still under evaluation and any information related to it will be shared before the end of March 2020.
Since there is no clarity on whether the above screenshot is actually from the Asus support, we would advise the users to take this information with a grain of salt. We will keep you posted if there are any further developments in this regard.
