Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes, Apple will ship around 10% more iPhones during the first quarter of 2020. According to Kuo, the boost in sales will result due to the strong replacement demand for iPhone 11 and the launch of iPhone SE 2 in 2020 (recently revealed by Kuo).

The analyst believes potential users of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus must be particularly excited about this upcoming launch, as iPhone SE 2 would attract this particular line of users.

iPhone 11, starting from the price bracket of $699 seems to be doing well among buyers. The upgraded hardware and camera improvements being introduced at lower price – compared the iPhone XR and iPhone XS/XS Max – makes the iPhone 11 a bang for bucks.

Recent reports conveyed that Apple has increased the shipments of iPhone 11 series by 10% due to the increased demand. If Kuo is to be believed, iPhone 11 series shipments are supposed to reach 70 to 75 million units in 2019.

Kuo estimates iPhone 11 Pro sales to reach 37-40 million units and iPhone 11 to reach 36-40 million units in 2019.

Moving along, considering the figures to be accurate, it suggests iPhone 11 Pro’s shipment will be less than last year’s iPhone XS’ shipment. But, this is due to ‘increased Production difficulty’ of specific components for iPhone 11 Pro.

Shipment of iPhone 11 will be higher than iPhone XR, mainly because iPhone XR started shipping late not until the middle of the last quarter of 2018.

The analyst believes, the boosted shipments and the affordable lower price of iPhone 11 will see an increase in shipments during the first quarter of 2020 (22-24 million units), better than iPhone XR in the first quarter of 2019 (14 million units).

All this may come in due to increase in replacement demand of iPhone 11 and the expected launch of iPhone SE 2 in 2020.
