Last week, Call of Duty News (@charlieINTEL) reported that the beloved Double Weapon XP and Double XP event will be making a comeback on COD Warzone. It is live as of now and will end on July 6 at 10 AM PT.
It is a great time to grind and upgrade your Season 4 weapons such as the C58 Assault Rifle, Nail Gun and the MG 82 LMG.
Both Call of Duty Warzone and Cold War players can gain double XP as well as double weapon XP during the event. This allows casual players a chance to grind their weapons.
Thousands of gamers were looking forward to leveling up their favorite gear over the weekend. But it seems the game had some other plans for them.
Just after the event started, several gamers from all over the world are reporting that they are unable to gain any additional XP from the event in COD Warzone.
Is double weapon XP currently working for people? The normal weapon XP awarded for a supply run was 500 XP the last time I did this. During double weapon XP this would then give 1000 XP per contract. Same for recon contracts. Currently, during double weapon XP weekend, I’m only getting 500 weapon XP per contract. Is double weapon XP not working, or did they lower the amount of weapon XP you get per contract? (Source)
Is it just me or does it seem like the double weapon XP isn’t working? Get like it since it came out today so I just tested a single supply run on plunder. Got it and backed out. Only counted for 500 vs 1000. (Source)
We want to remind you that this is not the first time the double weapon XP event isn’t working as intended. After last season’s update (Season 3), the same issue was reported by gamers worldwide.
This is really frustrating for some because they were looking forward to the weekend in order to upgrade their weapons. We hope the issue will be resolved soon since the event only lasts a couple of days.
Having said that, players are also experiencing some installation issues on the PS5 and the infamous Dev Error 5573.
