Original story (from January 07) follows:
The website of SimFileShare, a file hosting service for players of The Sims series, is currently down. If you try opening the site, you’ll find it’s completely inaccessible – you get “504 Gateway Time-out” error.
Of course, this is affecting users of the service, or simmers (as they are popularly known). Several of them are taking to online platforms like Twitter to share their experience. Take a look:

If you take a look at the official SimFileShare Twitter handle, you’ll see the service acknowledged an uploading issue on December 31, but has been quiet since then.
And going by some of the user reports, it appears the site has also been down since then.

Even the service’s Tumblr account hasn’t posted any update on this issue.

We haven’t come across any official word about the ongoing outage from Team SimFileShare yet. However, keep checking back as we’ll update the story as and when we’ll have more info.
Update 5 (Feb 21)
More info on the ongoing outage:
Apologies, all – the backup is taking much longer than anticipated and will probably last for most of today as well
Update 6 (April 10)
It appears the SimFileShare website is down and not working as of writing this. The site throws a can’t be reached notification.
Update 7 (July 15, 2021)
Going by user reports in social media platforms like Twitter, looks like the service is again down for many users. For its part, the service’s official Twitter handle and Tumblr blog are currently silent over this.
