OnePlus Nord OxygenOS 11 update reportedly didn't add dynamic live wallpapers feature

OnePlus recently began rolling out the stable OxygenOS 11 update based on Android 11 for the OnePlus Nord after a couple of months of beta testing.

OxygenOS 11 brings a bunch of new features and more importantly a major UI overhaul that is geared towards improving the one-handed user experience.

On the subject of new features, the Dynamic Live Wallpapers were also part of the OxygenOS 11 update when it rolled out for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

Unlike traditional live wallpapers, OnePlus’ dynamic Live wallpapers change based on the time of the day and even show a cool animation when you unlock your device. Check out the video below for reference.

Since the feature was introduced with the update to OxygenOS 11 on the OnePlus 8 series, OnePlus Nord users were also expecting to get the same on their devices once the stable update went live.

Unfortunately, it appears OnePlus has decided to keep the dynamic live wallpapers exclusive to its flagship offerings since the OxygenOS 11 update does not add the feature to the OnePlus Nord.

This has been confirmed by a YouTuber who recently reviewed the stable OxygenOS 11 update on the OnePlus Nord on which the dynamic live wallpapers are not available.

Apart from that, some Nord users have also been requesting (1, 2, 3) OnePlus to add the dynamic live wallpapers, however, the company mods or staff members have not yet responded to any requests.

OnePlus has also not shared any details as to why it has left out the dynamic live wallpapers on the OnePlus Nord with the update to Android 11.

However, it’s possible that the feature may have not been added to the device due to hardware limitations or optimization issues. But considering that the dynamic live wallpapers work as usual when sideloaded, we doubt hardware limitations are to blame.

Once you install the two APK files — OnePlus 8T/OxygenOS 11 Live Wallpapers APK and OnePlus Wallpaper Resources APK — on your device, you will be able to apply these OxygenOS 11 dynamic wallpapers on your OnePlus Nord or any other Android phone with Android 8.0 Oreo or later.
