Realme is currently testing its in-house skin over Android 11 on a bunch of smartphones via the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program.
Most recently, the company opened up the Early Access program for the Realme 6, Realme C12, Realme C15, Realme X2, Realme X3, and Realme X3 SuperZoom.
The only Realme smartphone that has bagged the stable Realme UI 2.0 update is the Realme X50 Pro. Although, Realme X50 Pro users in Europe are yet to receive it.
That said, given the nature of the Early Access program, it’s expected that these builds will have some bugs and issues that will be ironed out before the stable update.
Previously, we had reported that some users on the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program were facing issues with Netflix and Prime Video.
And now it seems users who are part of the Early Access problem have spotted another issue.
According to reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), users on the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access builds are getting a pop-up message claiming that their device is rooted when opening the Paytm payments app.
While this message might be troubling for some, it’s common for beta software to limit the usability of banking/payment applications.
This is because most OEMs skip the Google Play Protect certification or CTS certification for the beta builds and thus banking/payment applications such as Paytm warn or prevent users of potential risks.
Therefore, there’s no reason to fret about the message that claims that your device is rooted. Moreover, a moderator has confirmed that there is a certification issue but it will be fixed with the following updates.
A member from the Realme Device Team also confirmed that the issue would be fixed with the stable rollout.
Please don’t panic as you’re on a trial version. It’ll be fixed as soon as the stable version rollout. (Source)
Similarly, Samsung added CTS verification for the Galaxy S20 models on the One UI 3.0 (Android 11) beta at a later stage of the beta program.
Having said that, if you rely heavily on payment/banking apps such as Paytm, you may want to stay away from the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program until the company adds the required certifications.
