New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on Jan 2, 2020) follows:
While OPPO isn’t the most efficient when it comes to quick Android update releases, the company sure seems to be showing slight signs of improvement with its latest and greatest Color OS 11.
ColorOS 11 is the company’s custom skin based on Android 11 and is the successor to its previous ColorOS 7 based on Android 10.
While OPPO has already shared the ColorOS 11 update timeline for various markets, which you can read all about through our update tracker, recently the company made an update plan for the Chinese market available.
This was shared by the ColorOS Assistant account on Weibo. And according to it, the following OPPO smartphones will receive the ColorOS 11 update in the first quarter of 2021 in China.
January 2021 (limited) public beta recruitment plan:
OPPO Reno3 5G
OPPO A92s
OPPO A52
March 2021 – Open Beta (limited)
OPPO Reno2
OPPO Reno2 Z
OPPO K5
OPPO A72 5G
OPPO A91
March 2021 – Stable Release
– OPPO Reno 10x Zoom
– OPPO Reno Ace
– OPPO Reno3 Pro 5G
– OPPO Reno4 SE 5G
– OPPO Reno3 Vitality Edition
– OPPO K7
As apparent from the above, most of these handsets are sold exclusively in the company’s homeland. But again, many of them are made available in international markets by different model names.
Anyway, this ColorOS 11 update plan is thought to be similar to that of the global one. And hence, the above-mentioned devices are poised to receive the Android 11 update at the same time as their global counterparts.
For a recap, the ColorOS 11 update brings the following list of cool new features along with it:
Customizable dark mode
A plethora of UI customization options
Floating windows for better multitasking
Three-finger swipe down gestures for translations
Promotes mindfulness with Relax 2.0
Google Assistant & Google Lens integration
Nearby Share
Highly customizable AOD
Super power-saving mode & super nighttime standby
Battery guard (adaptive charging speed)
