Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 came out back in May with Android 10 out-of-the-box and received the MIUI 12 update by July-end.

However, the update was re-released for the global Redmi Note 9 variant in August followed by the Indian variant which also saw a re-released MIUI 12 version in early September.

We also reported that Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 users started reporting about performance issues after the MIUI 12 update which were reported to the developers.

Now, users are once again facing an issue with the Redmi Note 9 camera portrait mode where they are unable to make certain adjustments.

As per a user report on the Mi Community, there are no options to adjust the background lighting and focus in the portrait mode.

The options to make the adjustments after capturing images in the portrait mode are also not present in the MIUI Gallery app.

A Mi Community moderator has followed up with the user and has reported the issue to the relevant team after verifying all the details.

Hopefully, the OEM looks into this matter and fixes the Redmi Note 9 portrait mode issue soon.

Apart from that, Xiaomi is working on Android 11 and the Redmi Note 9 is also a candidate for the latest OS update.

It was reported back in September that the OEM might conduct the Mi Pilot testing program for the Redmi Note 9 Android 11 update.

Nevertheless, it is unclear when the development of the latest OS update will kick start for the device in question.

In the meantime, you can check out our Xiaomi Android 11 update tracker as the stable version of the latest OS is already out for the likes of Mi 10 and Redmi K30 Pro.
