These Xiaomi devices are not eligible for Android 11 update

Xiaomi was one of the first Android vendors to release the Android 11 beta update after Google for its flagships — the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Not much later, the Redmi K30 Pro also bagged the beta for Android 11.

More recently, Mi CC9 Pro users also got lucky since the beta was released for the device in China. Matter of fact, Xiaomi also announced that it’s recruiting beta testers for Android 11 for users with the global variants of the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and the Poco F2 Pro.

We also reported that Xiaomi may release the stable Android 11 build this month. So it’s safe to say that Xiaomi isn’t taking Android 11 lightly. But as you may know already, Xiaomi isn’t really on the top when it comes to providing Android updates for its devices.

The Chinese OEM offers only one major Android update for most of its devices from the Redmi series and two major Android updates for devices from the Mi series. Based on this, we created a list of Android 11 eligible devices from Xiaomi.

And now, a new unofficial list has appeared which not only shows the list of devices that may receive Android 11 but also those devices that won’t be receiving the upcoming Android version. We’ve added the image of the list below:

According to this list, the Mi CC9e, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7/7S, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 8A Dual, and devices that launched with MIUI 9 will not receive the update to Android 11.

Our previous findings also indicated the same and we also pointed out that some users were frustrated after coming to know that Xiaomi is ditching their device for the update to Android 11 while others are still hopeful.

Of course, all this is based on speculation and past trends thus we would still suggest waiting for an official word from Xiaomi regarding the availability of the upcoming Android version.
