New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 6, 2020) follows:

The Pocophone F1, sold in India as the Poco F1 was unveiled back in 2018 and so the aging device is approaching its end-of-life. It has already received its promised two major Android updates and Android 10 is as far as it will get updated, at least officially.

However, there is one update that Pocophone F1 users are looking forward to right now, Xiaomi’s own MIUI 12. The device was slated to get updated to MIUI 12 in the second phase of the rollout, meaning it was set to get updated sometime in August.

However, it appears as though this update is proving ever more elusive to Pocophone F1 users. Back in July, we saw reports that indicated we would see MIUI 12 roll out to a bunch of Xiaomi devices including the Pocophone F1 in early August.

That was never to be, seeing as new reports indicated that the MIUI 12 update for testers was going to be delayed by a week.

Earlier this week, the announcement post was tweaked to say that the update would arrive “this week”. Today, the message that was published in the official Pocophone F1/Poco F1 global and India Telegram groups has been edited once again.

The newly tweaked message now reads:

Poco F1: users selected for pilot testing will most likely get their miui 12 update next week (yes it’s been postponed, and might get postponed again)

The same report further confirms that the stable version of MIUI 12 for Poco F1 will be released after the pilot testing ends, which is probably 2-3 weeks.

It remains unclear what is causing these delays to the MIUI 12 Beta update for the Pocophone F1 and Poco F1 but for now, the wait is still on! Until we get more information from Xiaomi on the exact state of this update, all we can do is wait and look forward to this new build that will arrive whenever Xiaomi sees fit.

We shall continue to keep an eye on this story and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to our Pocophone F1 update tracker.
