New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 30, 2020) follows:

The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 (Poco F1) is in line to get the MIUI 12 update. In fact, it’s been there for a long time now and users are now getting concerned. The update has been under internal testing and Poco also kick-started the recruitment for pilot testers last month.

Unfortunately, the stable version is yet to see the light of day. Last week, we reported that the Poco F1 might get MIUI 12 within this week, but it did not. That information was taken from the official Poco India Telegram group.

But now, in a new message on the official Pocophone F1 Global group, the owner of the group has claimed that the Poco F1 will be getting the MIUI 12 update next week, postponed from this week. Although, there’s no mention of why there has been a delay.

This means that the device will only get the update in August. But it isn’t surprising since we’ve also reported that the Global, Russian and Indonesian units will also get the upcoming software in the month of August. Thus it appears the Poco F1 will indeed bag the MIUI 12 update in August itself in all regions.

If this information is now confirmed, it means that users should expect to get the much-awaited MIUI 12 skin on the Pocophone F1 within the first week of August. That is if there are no other delays.

Of course, the update will not roll out to all Pocophone F1 (Poco F1) users. Instead, those who have been selected for the Pilot testing program will get the update first. Only after a successful testing phase will the update begin rolling out on a wider scale.

What this means is that users who aren’t part of the Pilot testing program will have to continue waiting for the stable build to be released. At the moment, there is no ETA provided for the stable rollout.

But we can expect to see it release within two to three weeks after the pilot testing begins according to the official announcement on the Poco India Telegram group.
