Don't expect native video calling feature on Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 with Android 10 update

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 is yet to receive the stable Android 10 update. At present, the company is beta testing Android 10 for the devices. This has been going on for a few months now.

We recently rounded up all the known issues with the Android 10 beta update for the device. Amongst many other issues, the missing option to make native video calls has also been brought up.

This is a highly requested feature by ZenFone Max Pro M2 users. However, there has not been much clarity on the matter from the company up until now. A recent comment by an Asus moderator sheds some light on the matter.

In response to a complaint by a user, the mod made the following statement:

Sorry, after checking with relevant teams, native video calling is not available on ZB630KL. We suggest that you could use “Google Duo” or other third-party apps to video call.

Therefore, the option to make native video calls from the dialer app will not be arriving for the device. So the best alternative will be to use third-party applications that provide video calling support.

Moreover, we also reported that the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will not be receiving the native video calling feature as well.
