In this day and age, we find ourselves using multiple devices over the course of a day. You have your phone on you most of the time. But to get some serious work done, you might find yourself on your PC.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get your notifications from your phone to your PC or to your iPad when you’re using them so you don’t have to get distracted and reach for your phone every time a notification comes in?

Well, thanks to a new Jailbreak tweak, this could be very possible. ForwardNotifier is a recently-released, free jailbreak tweak that allows users with jailbroken iPhones to forwards notifications to their PC (Mac and Linux only for now) or iOS device (tested on iOS 9-13 for the receiver part)

ForwardNotifier works using SSH which means that for now, it can only work locally for now. However, the developer says he will add more features in the future for it to work via open ports and use other services like PushOver.

So how does it work? Well, if you want to forward your notifications to MacOS, you need a tool called “terminal-notifier”. This tool is free and there are several tutorials on how to install it. Ypu will then need to enable SSH on your Mac using this tutorial.

For Linux users, you might need a tool called “notify-send”. Luckily, you might not need to download any extra files as this comes preinstalled on several Linux distros including most of Ubuntu flavors. To enable ssh on Linux, install openssh-server

For further guidance on how to get this jailbreak tweak to work properly, check out the tweak developer’s guide here.

The developer adds that he plans to make this tweak’s source code available to the public on GitHub and that will happen as soon as he is done creating and adding features to the tool.

NOTE: We have these and many more Jailbreak tweaks in our dedicated Jailbreak section.
