New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 29, 2020) follows:

One of Samsung’s rugged series smartphone named Samsung Galaxy XCover 4s was spotted running a major OS version in one of the benchmarking website. Right now it runs on Android 9.0 (Pie).

Samsung’s XCover series is famous for its tough and rugged build quality with mid-range specs. It was launched in 2019 with a HD screen and 3GB Ram. It also has front hardware buttons, which is very rare these days in Android world.

Currently Samsung’s One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 is very popular, but this smartphone is still stuck with Android 9.0. But one of the benchmarking website (Geekbench) has shown some positive news.

Geekbench website has shown a new device with model no “samsung SM-G398FN” with Android 10 as operating system. This listing was uploaded on January 28 2020. The screenshot of this listing is provided below:

Another listing for same model no is also shown on the website, but there is a key difference between these two listings i.e. the first one shows motherboard as exynos7884 but second one is showing universal7885 (read exynos7885). Samsung Galaxy XCover 4S runns on Exynos 7885 chipset. the screen shot of second listing is provided below:

Apart from these differences, single and multi-core scores are almost same in the two listings mentioned above. The unique identifier information in both listings is also same. This gives us hope that Android 10 update with One UI 2.0 is just around the corner.

Samsung’s One UI 2.0 gives new features and simplifies the whole interface. It puts focus on functionality and removes unnecessary UI elements.

(One UI 2.0)

Did you know? Samsung Galaxy XCover 4s is not only IP68 dust/water resistant, but also supports a dedicated microSD card.
