We know that Android has iOS beat any day in terms of options and customizability. But thanks to the jailbreak community, iOS is hitting back. We have covered countless jailbreak tweaks that take advantage of jailbreak to offer users astonishing levels of customization on their iPhones.

Our recommended go-to tool to help you jailbreak your iOS device is Checkra1n. This tool is regularly updated to support the very latest builds of iOS and fix bugs that might have been present in previous builds.

Now that we have that bit out of the way, let us take a look at yet another interesting upcoming jailbreak tweak called Unicode Faces. This tweak is rather simple in what it does and many users will, no doubt appreciate the nostalgia it brings.

See, emojis are good. The act that we now have more emojis than we’ve ever had before can be intimidating, but there’s something for everyone, and for every expression out here.

This upcoming tweak brings a different kind of emojis to your iPhone. Unicode Faces for your keyboard brings a number of faces encoded in Unicode, so you can express yourself no matter what phone the recipient has as emojis just won’t work with old phones or feature phones.

A lot of people asked if I was ever going to update the Unicode Faces tweak I made over 4/5 years ago. I just did. For now it is the most basic update which just adds support for newer devices and iOS versions. I believe it should work for iOS 12 and above but who knows maybe lower.

There are no settings to configure for now but in the next version maybe this will already be added. For now you can invoke it by long-pressing the emoji button. If you want to contribute, it is open source. There’s a lot of cleaning up to do as the code is quite old, but it works for now 🙂

Also, according to the developer, the tweak should be available soon on the Packix repo for free. We shall keep an eye on this and update when the links go live.
