New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on March 30, 2020) follows:
Realme has grown leaps and bounds, and it is no hidden fact that one of the major reasons behind its success, apart from the company’s ever-growing portfolio of great price-to-specs products, is its massive user base.
The Chinese OEM started its operations back in 2018 and it has become one of the smartphone market leaders in India and is also giving tough competition to the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, etc. especially in the mid-range segment.
In fact, Realme has been pretty solid in pushing regular and fast security/firmware updates to its devices and was among the few brands that came out with an update roadmap as soon as the Android 10 update was out for the OEMs.
The company, by now, has made the Android 10 OS available for the majority of its devices, leaving behind a few, which will eventually be updated later this year.
However, with Android 11, the company might be leaving a few of the devices behind. And the first one as per reports, to bite the dust is the Realme 2 Pro.
Going by the recent response to a user query on whether the Realme 2 Pro will get the Android 11 (Realme UI 2.0) update or not, Realme CMO Francis Wang ruled Android 11 out of the cards and stated that the company is sticking with two major updates per phone.
I don’t think so. Two major Android update is what we giving to 2 Pro, and it comes with Android 8.0 in 2018.

It seems fair because Realme 2 Pro was launched in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and as per the official roadmap, the device is expected to pick up the stable Android 10 (Realme UI) update in June 2020.
However, their flagship, the Realme X2 Pro, that has recently picked up its first major OS update in the form of Android 10, has been confirmed by the CMO to get the Android 11 (Realme UI 2.0) OS.
That is flagship. 2 times no doubt.

Besides, if we go by one of our reports on the list of Android 11 (Realme UI 2.0) eligible devices, Realme 2 Pro was not listed due to the above-mentioned reason for the device.
So, PiunikaWeb readers should note that basically the Realme devices that came with Android 9 Pie out of the box will be getting the taste of Android 11 in the future. Stay tuned to our Realme section for more updates and similar stories surrounding Realme devices.
Update 1 (March 16)
IST 01:03 pm Realme customer support now seems to be confusing people by its spurious claims about Realme 2 Pro Android 11 being under development.
It is highly unlikely for a device this old to now get the Android 11 update when it has already bagged 2 promised major OS updates.
