Huawei sells the Y9 2019 in China as the Enjoy 10 Plus. In early October 2019, the device was invited to try EMUI 10 beta update based on Android 10 in its homeland of China.
Despite Huawei testing EMUI 10 on the Chinese variant of the Y9 2019, uncertainties about the availability of the OS in other regions continued to swarm the interwebs, forcing the company to respond.
Initially, Huawei India revealed that the Y9 2019 won’t be updated to Android 10, but then the global Huawei Twitter handle said otherwise – that the update is actually coming. Not long after, it was later clarified that the Indian variant is the one to miss out on the update to Android 10.
The story is pretty much the same with the Huawei Nova 3 EMUI 10 update, which is also set to be skipped despite a Change.org petition that has attracted thousands of signatures.
On the brighter side, it seems Huawei isn’t giving up on the devices just yet. The duo is now receiving a new software update that installs the March 2020 security patches based on Android Pie.
Where the Nova 3 is getting it as EMUI 9.1.0.366 (C636E1R1P3) across Asia (Pacific)…
… the Y9 2019 is picking up the same patch as EMUI 9.1.0.264 (C185E2R1P1) in the Middle East.
Both Huawei Y9 2019 and Nova 3 EMUI 10 hopefuls are receiving the latest March security updates over the air, meaning it may take several days before everyone in the designated regions receives the new software.
