New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on March 26, 2020) follows:
After confusing and probably messing around with the users, the Android One powered Xiaomi Mi A3 was finally served with the Android 10 update. But just when users were starting to experience the latest OS on their phones, the update was halted due to bugs.
Users who installed the buggy Android 10 updates on there Mi A3 started reporting broken in-display fingerprint sensors among many other issues.
Moreover, the Chinese OEM cleared the air that the stable update will start to roll out once, all the bugs are fixed. The option of rolling back to bug-free Android 9 Pie firmware was also ruled out as Xiaomi warned the users that it would cause an adverse effect on the Mi A3.
However, the OEM was quick to react to this situation and rolled out a bugfix beta update that brought in a cure for the fingerprint scanner and battery issues. Xiaomi also stated that the stable update could be delayed until the end of this month i.e. March 2020.
Finally, a few days ago, the Android 10 update saw the light of the day and was released with the March 2020 security patchset, but was pulled back yet again due to un-named bugs.
And in the process of annoying and frustrating the users once again, as per user reports, Xiaomi started sending out the Android 10 update tagging along March security patch.
Now you might think that this is a piece of good news right??? But the answer to this is no. Because PiunikaWeb readers, Lalit and Felipe Coelho, took to Twitter to bring this to our notice that the update could not be installed as it throws the “Couldn’t update Installation problem” error.
