New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on March 19, 2020) follows:
At this point in time, the joke is on Xiaomi. While the company has some amazing devices in the Android One program, software-wise, it is still wanting.
None of the four devices in the Mi A series has had a smooth ride when it comes to major Android OS updates, be it the Mi A1 that gave life to a dying Android One program back in 2017 or even the latest Mi A3, which just picked up an update to Android 10 hours ago.
Just so you know, the recent Mi A3 Android 10 update wasn’t the first the device was receiving. Earlier this month, after a lengthy wait, Xiaomi finally rolled out the stable Android 10 OS to select users of the device.
But it turned out the firmware was still too buggy to be used as a daily driver. To mitigate the situation, the rollout was halted in order to give Xiaomi devs some more time to address the issues.
Fast-forward to yesterday and the patched-up version started rolling out. The update was made available to both Mi A3 owners who had installed the buggy firmware a few weeks ago as well as those coming from Android Pie complete with the latest March security patch.
In the announcement post, though, Xiaomi warned that this version of the Mi A3 Android 10 update was still a Beta Stable version. And that it may be pulled in case of any issues.
Well, that didn’t last long. Apparently, reports coming in suggest that Xiaomi may have actually pulled the Mi A3 Android 10 OTA update. For the second time.
Yesterday in my phone Mi A3 Android 10 update was available. I was download the update but it can’t installed. I repeated but the result was same. After some time it shows no update available. What is this happening.

As you can see from the reports above and others in the Mi forums, many Mi A3 owners are yet to see the update. Sure, maybe it’s because the initial rollout was only meant for a small batch of devices, but no.
Matter of fact, some Mi A3 owners asked Xiaomi support for answers regarding the missing update, especially those who had started downloading the firmware and suddenly it was not there. In response, support says the update has indeed been pulled due to unnamed bugs.
We apologize the update but due to uncertainties we took the update off. We are working on the issue will resolve soon and launch the update.
So, there you have it! In case the OTA download notification to install Android 10 hasn’t arrived on your Mi A3, it’s likely because the rollout has been halted. Soon after Xiaomi fixes the issues at hand, it should resume, but we can’t tell you when.
