Ever since OEMs have started rolling out the Android 10 updates, users have been eager to know whether their devices are eligible for the updates or not.
Huawei, which is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers, has given heartbreaks to several device owners, including Huawei Nova 3i, with the news that they will not get the EMUI 10 (Android 10) update.
The Chinese OEM has previously ruled out Huawei Nova 3i (also known as Huawei P Smart+ 2018 in certain markets) from getting EMUI 10 (Android 10) update, stating the so-called hardware limitations the reason for it.
Nova 3i hopefuls were treated with disappointment when the official Twitter handle of Huawei India confirmed that the Huawei Nova 3i will only get regular security updates.
FYI, the Honor 8X that rocks the same Kirin 710 processor as the Nova 3i, has already got the EMUI 10 (Android 10) update. So, the frustration is legit.
And in hope of getting the company’s attention, several users signed a petition demanding EMUI 10 update on the device, which also went in vain as the company has rejected their plea.
However, amidst all of these disappointments, there is some good news for the Nova 3i users. As according to a recent development, a new security update is available for the device.
The February 2020 security patchset is now live for the Nova 3i (aka Huawei P Smart+ 2018). The incremental update arrives with the version number V9.1.0.280 and weighs in around 122 MB in size.
