The G-series lineup, which is the best selling series of smartphones by Motorola has always been kept behind when it comes to getting the latest updates.
The Lenovo owned brand is far from being done with the rollout of the Android 10 updates for its devices. Besides, the company has also not released any official Android 10 update roadmap which has raised concerns about the uncertainty of the updates.
Moto G7 Play is among those smartphones that are yet to get the taste of Android 10. Even though Motorola is known for running almost stock builds, it is pretty interesting that the company is yet to update a bunch of its devices to Android 10.
A few days ago, in one of our posts, we reported that as per the tweet by Motorola France, the Android 10 update might arrive in the next quarter, i.e. Q2 of 2020 for the Moto G7.
This ruled out the possibility of getting the Android 10 updates for the Moto G7 Play anytime soon. Adding fuel to the fire, one of the major US carriers, Verizon has now pushed the February 2020 security patchset for the Moto G7 Play, making the Android 10 update a distant dream for the phone.
The update is purely incremental in nature and comes with the build PDYS29.105-165-10. Check out the official changelog along with the screenshot of the update tracker below:

It is worth noting that the Moto G7 Plus has already bagged the stable Android 10 update in many regions, while the Moto G7 Power has grabbed the Android 10 update in the form of LineageOS 17.1 custom ROM.
Taking a look at the current scenario, this February update for the Verizon Moto G7 Play has now pushed the Android 10 update for the device, out of the picture, as of now. We will keep you posted about any developments in this regard.
