Realme UI could get low battery count down, proportional one-hand mode resizer, power button trigger for flash light & more

Android is a very diverse platform. And rightfully so. The open-source operating system spans across hundreds of different OEMs across the globe and in a bid to differentiate themselves from each other, they bake in a whole lot of features.

We have various skins from the likes of Samsung’s OneUI that are nowhere near stock Android but remain just as functional, to Huawei’s EMUI that is inspired by iOS, to OnePlus’ OxygenOS that adds a few customisation and functionality to stock Android, leaving many aspects untouched.

Realme is planning to add a bunch on new features on its somewhat heavily customized skin on Android, Realme UI. In a post on Realme’s community forum, it was announced that these features will soon be available on Realme UI.

The Realme X2 Pro, Realme X2, and Realme Q users will soon be able to experience the latest version of Realme UI in all its glory. Once this happens, more Realme fans will be able to come up with interesting functional suggestions that should help the OS Echo Wall section grow together.

The Echo Wall is a platform where Realme users suggest features they would like to see in the next build of Realme UI. The features that have been accepted and that are on their way to the next build of Realme UI include:

-DND Reminder
-adjust the size and position of the one-handed mode proportionally
-turn off the flashlight via the power button
-countdown reminder before the shutdown in the low battery state
-a calendar schedule plugin for the desktop

These are just some of the suggested features that have been accepted. There remains a whole lot of others whose status is pending. You can check more of these features here.

Incorporation of these features that are user-suggested takes user involvement in software development to a whole new level. Having users play a key role in deciding which features to include on the next build of Realme UI is something other phone-makers should emulate.

This would, no doubt, cut down on all the gimmicks and half-baked features that users don’t exactly need, that come baked in many skinned versions of Android.
