We first got a glimpse of the official Nokia Android 10 update roadmap back in August 2019. At the time, the surprising omission was the Nokia 8.

Sure, the device already picked up two OS upgrades, but we all know its hardware is capable of handling another update to Android 10. Matter of fact, there is an ongoing petition aimed at forcing the company to release another OS upgrade for this device.

Months down the line, HMD Global still has some work to do in order to reach the finish line. So far, the update to Android 10 has only been pushed to the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus.

The likes of Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 3.1 Plus and Nokia 2.2 should have already received their updates to Android 10 by now alongside the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2. The latter duo was promised the new OS in Q1 2020 during their launch, but we all know the story so far.

With every company that has had to delay the update to Android 10 citing the coronavirus outbreak in China, HMD Global is no exception. Apparently, the company says the outbreak is at the heart of the delayed rollout of the OS to the aforementioned devices.

In a statement that also saw a new Nokia Android 10 update roadmap revealed by the usual suspect – Juho Sarvikas – the company says COVID-19 might have made its mark, but the focus to be the fastest brand to update its portfolio to Android 10 still remains.

In the updated roadmap, the Nokia 2.2 Android 10 update seems to be the closest. This doesn’t come as a surprise following a recent development that suggested the OS is out for this handset.

Next in line will be the Nokia 2.3, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 6.2, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 3.1 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco. Going by the provided schematic, these devices should pick up their update to Android 10 anywhere between now and early Q2 2020.

Somewhere in mid-Q2, attention will turn to the likes of Nokia 1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus and later towards the end of the quarter, the OS will be pushed to the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 1. This will be the second major OS upgrade for the Android Go-powered Nokia 1.

Considering HMD Global kept its end of the deal with the previous roadmap, we are confident this revised edition will also be met. Time will tell, though.
