Original story (from March 11) follows:

It’s quite unfortunate that the MWC 2020 event didn’t take place as scheduled due to the coronavirus outbreak in China and other parts of the globe. At last year’s event, HMD Global was in Spain to unveil the Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 1 Plus.

Half a year down the line, the Finnish company took to the IFA 2019 stage in Berlin, Germany to unveil two more smartphones in the shape of Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2.

These two came about as respective successors to the impressive Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 6.1 from 2018. Indeed, to justify their claim to the throne, the duo packs in some cool features and solid hardware, highlighted by triple cameras and HDR-capable displays.

With most vendors who unveiled new smartphones at this event going with Android 9 Pie out of the box, HMD blew the chance to cement its position as the fan-favorite Android One OEM by sticking with the same Pie inside the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2.

But when unveiling the devices at an event held in Cairo, Egypt in early December 2019, the company promised to bring the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 Android 10 update by the end of Q1 2020. At this point, no one foresaw coronavirus becoming a thing to worry about in software development.

With Q1 almost done and dusted, many frustrated Nokia 7.2 and 6.2 owners started airing their anger via various social media platforms demanding the update to be released as promised.

Perhaps for fear of the growing number of frustrated device owners, the company has today come out to reveal a new Android 10 roadmap for the remaining devices, among them the Nokia 6.2 and 7.2

As it stands, you can expect the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 Android 10 update to be pushed either at the tail-end of this quarter or somewhere in early Q2, probably in April 2020.

HMD says the coronavirus outbreak is the reason the initial Android 10 roadmap didn’t materialize for some devices, not just the Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2. Matter of fact, the new roadmap should see all remaining eligible units receive the new OS by the end of Q2 2020.

We will be following up on this matter and fill you in when each of the devices mentioned in the above roadmap (image) picks up their update to Android 10. Stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
