[Rolling out, this time for real] Asus ROG Phone 2 Android 10 update finally releases, but users are yet to receive it

Many eligible phones from various phone makers have already been updated to Android 10 at this point, with many more from the likes of HTC, Oppo, Samsung, Xiaomi and even Realme, expected to follow suit pretty soon.

According to some phone maker’s Android 10 roadmap, some of the last devices on their update list should get the update around the end of Q2 of 2020. We have seen Android 11 Beta builds so it is time to wrap up the rollout of Android 10 already.

ASUS, primarily a computer company known for its laptop, is also planning to roll out Android 10 to its second generation of gaming-centered Android phone, the ASUS ROG Phone II. Recently, we saw the company roll out Beta 9 of its Android 9 build for this device so it is safe to say the company is gearing up for an official launch.

Well, according to the company’s Twitter handle, the wait is over and Android 10 for the ROG Phone 2 is official. The company also says that the update is being rolled out to users.

This is such a breath of fresh air for the countless ROG Phone 2 users who have been waiting for this update. Or is it? While the company has made this announcement official, users are still asking for a release date.

Users are still waiting for this update to hit their devices and as at the time of writing, not a single ROG Phone 2 user had confirmed receiving this update.

ASUS’ official BIOS and Firmware page for the device is yet to be updated to reflect this new update as the last build listed on the platform is from back in December 2019.

For now, it is just a matter of waiting some more. ROG Phone 2 users are advised to wait on to see when exactly ASUS will actually roll out this update to its devices.

In the recent past, we have seen the kind of chaos that surrounded the rollout of Android 10 to the Xiaomi Mi A3 and we just hope that the same will not happen to ROG Phone 2 users.
