Signing petitions, especially on Change.org has become one of the recent trends of demanding any major update from smartphone OEMs. And now Huawei P20 Lite (aka Huawei Nova 3e) users have joined the bandwagon.
This is not the first time where Huawei users have signed a petition and in the past has done the same for Huawei Y9 2019, Huawei Nova 3i, Honor Play, Huawei Nova 3, and Honor Play.
But, Huawei P20 Lite users have filed not one, not two, but in total 3 separate petitions. At the time of writing this post, one petition has 713 users signed, while the second and third petition has 365 and 104 users signed, respectively. This amounts to a total of over 1000 users, which is quite a good number.
In one of our earlier coverage, we have reported that the EMUI 10 (Android 10) update for the Huawei P20 Lite is not going to arrive as the device does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Android 10.
What’s notable is that, after all of these user petitions, when users took to Twitter asking for EMUI 10 (Android 10) updates for Huawei P20 Lite, we can see there is a slight change of language in response from Huawei.
Though it is pretty generic, they are not outright refusing to give the update like their previous response. Check out their comments below:
thank you for contacting Huawei and for showing interest in our products. Currently the P20 Lite is not on the list of the devices that will receive the EMUI 10, however please pay attention to updates on our official social media platforms.

In fact, the official Twitter handle of Huawei Mobile has stated that:
Hi Jorge, thank you for your message. Timings for the EMUI 10 update will depend on country, region and device. To find out more, please contact our EMUI support page on https://facebook.com/HuaweiEMUI. We anticipate that they will be able to provide the best possible assistance.

So, looking at the whole situation at hand, we like the users of Huawei P20 Lite are not sure or clear whether the update is on the cards for the device or not. We will keep you posted once we have some more information in this regard.
