A bunch of smartphones from Xiaomi and Nokia are receiving new software updates with the latest February 2020 security patches and some are only getting the older January 2020 and even December 2019 security updates.
The former camp has the Android One-powered Mi A1; the currently China-exclusive Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, as well as HMD Global’s Android Go-based Nokia 2.1. In the latter camp are the Mi 9 Lite, also known as Mi CC9 in China, and the Mi Note 3.
February security updates
To begin with, let’s take a look at the devices receiving the latest February security updates, beginning with Xiaomi’s Android One device, the Mi A1. Owners of the device are still hopeful that Android 10 could arrive at some point.
Some have even taken to the Change.org website to sign a petition that should see the company release the Mi A1 Android 10 update, the third major OS upgrade for the handset. Although unlikely, what seems certain is that security updates will keep coming in.
The latest comes over a month following the release of January patches and brings software version V10.0.18.0.PDHMIXM, up from the previous version V10.0.17.0.PDHMIXM. The OTA may take time to arrive, but we have the link to manually download the update.
