Moto One Zoom Android 10 update coming soon, says Motorola Brazil

Motorola Brazil has just revealed some minor, but significant details about the Moto One Zoom Android 10 update, not long after shedding light on the availability of the Moto One Android 10 update.

Apparently, the 2018 Moto One is set to receive the update to Android 10 in the coming days. Motorola Brazil says the software is ready, meaning it’s only a matter of time, but it’s likely to be the soak test that comes out first.

If you own the Moto One Zoom, you are most definitely looking forward to the new Android 10 too. Having arrived with Android Pie preinstalled, this would be the Zoom’s first major OS upgrade.

Android One devices get two OS upgrades, but even with its “One” tag, the Moto One Zoom isn’t part of Motorola’s Android One family. This, by all means, affects how fast the device receives software updates, minor or major OS upgrades.

Is this why details of the Moto One Zoom Android 10 update have been hard to come by? Probably not, but what not being part of Android One definitely means for the device is that Android 11 could be in doubt, but let’s leave that for another day.

Just yesterday, February 21, Motorola Brazil responded to a concerned Moto One Zoom owner regarding the company’s Android 10 update plans for this device.

Fears of a delayed rollout amplified after the device picked up January security patches earlier this month with no changes to the base OS. This suggested that the OS wasn’t anywhere near completion, but according to Motorola Brazil, Android 10 is, in fact, coming soon to the One Zoom.

Of course, there is nothing specific in “soon”, but with the Brazilian market being Motorola’s darling, it’s easier to lean towards this statement. For now, the best we can do is keep an eye on more related developments and update this story with the latest news as and when we get them.

So far, Motorola has already released the new OS to some of its One devices, among them the Moto One Vision, Moto One Action, and the Moto One Power. As noted at the beginning, the Moto One is next in line.
