This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from Feb 21) follows:
Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 10 update allegedly arrived a month ago. At the time, it was claimed the rollout was limited to select units as part of a closed beta test.
Despite there being no actual evidence of the rollout, Xiaomi kept on insisting the update had been released. As expected, this left many confused about what exactly the company was planning with respect to the Mi A3 Android 10 update.
Not long ago, a Mi A3 Android 10 Bug Megathread was supposedly published shortly and later taken down. This, by all means, was the closest we’ve come to believe the update is here.
Xiaomi France did calm down some nerves by revealing that the update will be made available in March and later it was hinted that early March could indeed be the much-awaited release date of the OS.
But even so, there is still no way to believe what Xiaomi France says. Matter of fact, it has become pretty impossible to believe anything the company says regarding the Mi A3 Android 10 availability. So, what now?
Looking at the screengrab above, Xiaomi support claims the delayed Android 10 update for the Mi A3 has nothing to do with the coronavirus epidemic in China.
We’ve seen other OEMs admit that the situation is indeed affecting the software update plans, so there is no shame in saying so, Xiaomi. In fact, in a separate forum, Xiaomi pointed out that the coronavirus outbreak delayed the latest MIUI 11 beta release in China.
And now in fresh developments, the same Xiaomi support now says COVID-19 is at the heart of this delay.
We would like to inform you that Mi A3 Android 10 update is getting delayed due to the current circumstances in China. Our team is doing their best for the update to be released as early as possible, your patience is truly appreciated.
As already noted, Xiaomi did admit that the delayed arrival of MIUI 11 beta updates is due to the coronavirus situation in China. But on matters of the Mi A3 Android 10 update, some owners of the device aren’t buying Xiaomi’s story.
Apparently, they believe the Mi A3’s Android One software has nothing to do with China and that, in fact, the device was supposed to receive Android 10 ahead of the Mi A2.
#MiA3 is #AndroidOne device; #Google doesnt work in China; then how on earth can #MiA3 s #Android10 update be linked with Unfortunate Corona Virus in China. If it was #MiUi; It was understandable but #AndroidOne no. Clarify it @Xiaomi

Brother Corona viruse doesn’t affect any updates and google is provided licence to xiaomi and china isnt allow Google services so that mean mia3 developers are working in India only android 10 update doesn’t come from china

While there might be some element of truth in the above sentiments, they are also likely to be untrue. The fact that Google and Android One have nothing to do with China doesn’t mean Xiaomi’s China team can’t work on software updates for the Mi A3.
Either way, we wait to see what transpires, but hopefully, we get to see the rollout in the coming days. We will let you know when the update arrives.
