New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 19, 2020) follows:
Motorola has pushed the new Android 10 update to a handful of its devices that include Android One’s Moto One Power, Moto One Vision, Moto One Action, and even the Moto G7 Plus.
The software is also expected to continue rolling out to other Motorola devices, among them the Moto G7, Moto One Zoom and the company’s first Android One device, the Moto One.
Announced in 2018 alongside the Moto One Power, the Moto One runs Android Oreo out of the box and has since been bumped to Pie. With the update to Android 10, the Lenovo-owned company will simply be abiding by Android One rules that demand at least two OS upgrades for all devices.
The fact that its counterpart, the Moto One Power, already picked up the update to Android 10 should also suggest that the standard Moto One Android 10 update can be expected soon.
Indeed, according to Motorola Brazil, it’s only a matter of days before the official rollout begins. When first asked about it on February 18, Motorola Brazil (via Twitter) promised to get back when they have news on the same.
Well, it didn’t last long for Motorola Brazil to come back with some good news, revealing that the Moto One Android 10 update can be expected to begin rolling out in the coming days.
As for how long “in the coming days” translates to, only Motorola can tell us, but we won’t be surprised if it turned out that no one knows the actual release date of the OS.
While this might put a smile of relief on some Moto One owners’ faces, the fact that Motorola has just started rolling out February security patches based on Android Pie could imply the wait is still long.
The update is arriving as version PPKS29.68-16-21-20 and being airborne, it may take several days before every unit out there picks up the new security patch.
We will keep our eyes open and let you know when the Moto One begins receiving the new OS upgrade.
