New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 19, 2020) follows:
Android 10 continues to roll out to more and more devices following its launch back in September 2019. As such, many phone-makers like Huawei, Xiaomi and many more, have been busy at work, working on these updates.
We have also seen aftermarket builds like Lineage OS 17, which is also based on Android 10, getting available for more and more devices. Safe to say then, that Android 10 really is going mainstream.
Honor 9X users are a lucky lot. This is because the Chinese giant OEM, Huawei, is just now rolling out the official stable build of Android 10 to the device.
The update which has since been rumored to be coming soon, thanks to Honor India’s tweet yesterday confirming that indeed, the update was right around the corner.
The new update has been spotted on the STK-L22 model of the Honor 9X. It brings with it the Android 10-based EMUI 10.0 with build number C675E6R2P1. The update is rather heavy, coming in at 3.38GB. While we don’t have the official changelog yet, it is safe to assume that both Android 10 and EMUI 10 changelogs apply to this device now.
To recall, Huawei added the Honor 9X along with the Honor 9X Pro to its EMUI 10 beta program back in January 2020. This came following a beta registration exercise that spanned over a period of one month. This was limited to the Chinese market.
The Honor 9X that is now getting Android 10 update, was announced back in July 2019. It features a 6.59″ LTPS IPS LCD display and is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset. Powering this device is a hefty 4000 mAh battery cell and storage needs are catered for thanks to 128 GB of storage.
