New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 18, 2020) follows:
Huawei started recruiting Honor 10 Lite owners in China into EMUI 10 (Android 10) beta program in late September 2019 and a month later, the update was already up for grabs.
Three weeks later, the EMUI 10 beta update was available for the global variants of the Honor 10 Lite, including in India. A week before last Christmas celebrations, the stable Honor 10 Lite Android 10 update was already available in China.
A couple or so weeks later, the update landed in India and other markets, tagging along November security patches as part of the EMUI 10.0.0.159 package.
Despite some Honor 10 Lite owners actually receiving their updates to EMUI 10 through January, others didn’t get it. And indeed, Honor India did come out early this month to reveal that the rollout had been temporarily put on hold, but there was no explanation.
Nonetheless, Honor India promised to resume rolling out the update in the first week of February, but it seems the update is only rolling out now. Apparently, the new Honor 10 Lite update has firmware version 10.0.0.171 and bundles December 2019 security patches.
It’s worth noting that those who had already received Android 10 on their Honor 10 Lite units when the first update arrived last month are also receiving a minor update that bumps the security patch level from November to the newer December 2019.
Since the update is airborne, it will take some time before all units across India pick up the download notification, so be patient.
Update (February 28, 2020)
