Say hello to Truecuts, a jailbreak tweak to run Shortcut Automation like a pro

Apple’s iOS is a pretty closed off ecosystem. Apple itself frowns at the idea of people tweaking their devices’ systems because ‘They don’t need to do that. Everything just works.’ Well, the thousands of users who jailbreak their devices tend to disagree. Today we shall look at Truecuts.

Once an Apple device is jailbroken, a lot of interesting things suddenly become possible. We have covered a number of interesting tweaks that Apple device users can take advantage of on their jailbroken iPhones and iPads. Here’s another.

Apple Shortcuts have been around for some time now. We first saw this with iOS 12 but Apple made some changes to the way the app works as from the iOS 13.1 update. But this functionality is a little limited. A new jailbreak tool could help with this.

Truecuts is a tweak for Siri Shortcuts that enables all automation triggers to run without prompting.In iOS 13, Siri Shortcuts has a new feature called Automations.

These automation run when something happens – i.e. when Low Power Mode is turned on, or at a certain time of day. These are the triggers that are supported. Apple also added additional triggers for certain shortcuts, including NFC tags and Automations.

These triggers can be set to run without prompting. However, others don’t have this option. The triggers that don’t have the option – and thus, must be activated via a notification – are the triggers you’d want to run automatically.

These could be things like the time of day, arrive at a location, and so on. Relying on this drastically reducing the effectiveness of Shortcut Automations. That is where Truecuts comes in.

This tweak, Truecuts, fixes that by allowing all triggers to be run without prompting. A scroll through this tool’s Reddit page and you will come across users who use this tool for a variety of purposes from automatically enabling DND totaking screenshots and much more.

Essentially, Apple made Shortcut automation in such a way that, they trigger only when the device receives particular notifications. This tweak goes above and beyond this limitation to make this automation truly automatic.
