Realme X2 charging animation decimal point removed due to 'battery display issue,' feature will be back

Realme brought in the Realme X2 phone back in 2019 that packs a punch under the hood, for instance, Snapdragon 730G, 6/8 GB of RAM, a 4,000 mAh battery, and a 6.4-inch display.

In the camera department, it houses a quad-camera setup with a 64 MP primary lens at the rear and a 32 MP selfie camera at the front. Moreover, the Realme X2 also sports an under-display fingerprint scanner.

However, during the launch of the phone, Realme teased a new functionality which showed that the users could actually see the charging in real-time with two decimal places.

This charging animation was added back with an update released in October 2019 with the version number RMX1901_11.A.19 along with some other optimizations for the device.

But, this feature was removed again in OTA update version RMX1992EX_11_A.18 released in January 2020.

Cut to now, when a Twitter user asked about this issue, Product Manager, Nidhi Bhatia responded that this animation was causing some display issues for 20W and 30W chargers and the matter is looked into and soon will be made available.

It is currently causing some battery display issues for other chargers (20W and 30W). But we are working on resolving this. In the meantime, we have changed it back to without decimals for a better experience.

In fact, Nidhi also stated in another tweet that this decimal point charging animation feature is currently available only for 50W chargers.

So, it is expected that the decimal point charging animation will soon be released back once everything is sorted by the company.
