New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 10, 2020) follows:
For a long time now, one of the issues facing smartphones has been, how to let you know you have a notification on your device. If you stepped away for a moment and missed your notification tone, your only hope is to check your device.
For a while, devices spotted notification LEDs that pulsed repeatedly if there’s a pending notification. With this new era of bezelless smartphones, where do you place that? Well, Realme has a new solution altogether.
RealmeUI is introducing a new feature, starting with the Realme XT device to address this issue. Screen Light effects, as the feature is being named solves this issue in an ingenious way.
Screen light effects light up your phone’s screen edge when you receive calls or notifications. This effectively serves as a giant, colorful notification light. Users can also choose from three different lighting effects, i.e. Neon Purple, Ocean Blue, and Amber Orange.
Realme says that this feature will come to other Realme devices soon. However, not all Realme devices will be able to support this. Only devices with a Super AMOLED display will get this feature. At the moment, users with the Realme XT (also sold as the Realme X2 in certain markets) can use this feature.
To activate/enable screen light effect feature on supported devices, go to Settings >> Display and Brightness >> Screen Light Effects and choose from the available options to truly customise your experience.
