Huawei remains one of the biggest Android phone makers in the world right now, coming in second after Samsung. Huawei devices are sold in many parts of the world and to offer customized and individualized support, the OEM has been relying on the HiCare app.
The HiCare app comes pre-installed on Huawei/Honor devices, be it flagship or an entry-level phone. Huawei has also been using the same app during the testing phase of its latest skin, EMUI 10. This has been used by beta testers to sign up for the beta and to receive new updates.
Huawei is switching things up a bit. After the latest update (v10.1.1.305), users might have noticed that the HiCare app is missing from their app list/app drawer. Well, the company has renamed the app from HiCare to Support in some regions.
With the renaming, the app also gets a fresh coat of paint and a whole set of user interface enhancements and improvements. Essentially, the whole app has been redesigned entirely.
The following is the new app changelog;
Services:
Brand-new UI version. Repair progress, troubleshooting, nearest service center, and various quick services are available with one touch.Device center:
Blind your devices, and recommend related services to you.Troubleshooting:
Guide you through the troubleshooting instructions, and offer solutions promptly.
Huawei says that the app will continue to provide users with common online services including customer services, issue feedback, user guides, service centers, and self-service. The Support app aims to offer a one-stop-shop for after-sales services in order to quickly identify and resolve any issues you encounter.
To get the newly redesigned app with all its new functions, simply update the HiCare app from the Google Play Store or via AppGallery. You can also grab yourself the APK file from this link.
