[Updated] Nokia 7 Plus & Nokia 6.1 Plus Android 10 update triggered crackling sound bug not fixed in January patch

Nokia pushed in the Android 10 update for two of its devices i.e. Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus in the beginning of this month. In fact, the update for both the devices tagged along December 2019 security patchset.

But along with the December security patchset and other Android 10 specific features, the update brought along various bugs and issues for both the devices as well.

Notably, users of the Nokia 7 Plus and 6.1 Plus have reported issues prominently regarding crackling or buzzing sound from the speaker after they upgraded their devices to Android 10.

Such a severe bug alongside many other bugs with this terrible update , the sound distortion even plays through Bluetooth .Many Nokia phones have this with the 10 update and no fix or even acknowledgment of this issue from HMD support, pretty mediocre and not acceptable if you ask me . No more Nokia products for me.

In fact, Nokia pushed in the January 2020 security patchset for the Nokia 7 Plus smartphone that weighed 53.2 M, recently.

But, this update does not seem to fix the sound crackling bug and users are still reporting the issue after updating their Nokia 7 Plus with this January update.

Not only the Nokia 7 Plus has been surfaced with this sound crackling issue, but even Nokia 6.1 Plus users have also reported the same after the Android 10 update.

Very bad Bluetooth headset output and 3.5 mm output output audio quality, audio codec output of all sound are very very bad…

Android 10 Update on my Nokia 6.1 Plus has lots of issues, for instance:
1. Sound Quality from Phone speaker is distorted
2. Sound from Headphones has become Pathetic like 11 khz.
3. Automatic Wallpapers change doesnt work.
4. New Swipe gesture sucks, as u move across ur pics. And its sensitivity also doesnt work.
5. Charging is slow then before
6. Charging time displayed is still incorrect
7. Playback on YouTube freezes somwtimes.
8. Apps refresh doesnt work sometimes.
Lol, and dont how many more.
Hope Nokia releases Andriod10 New Build next month.

Moreover, the January patch also does not seem to fix this issue, which the Nokia 6.1 bagged a few days ago and users of both the devices are awaiting a fix for this issue.

Note that users took to Twitter to report this issue and the official handle of Nokia Mobile India has responded that they have made a note of this issue and they’ve notified the relevant team.

It will be interesting to see what Nokia does in order to fix this bug for both the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus users. Till then, we will keep you in the loop until we have more information in this regard.
