New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 30, 2020) follows:
Samsung has been doing a really good job in terms of rolling out Android 10 to its eligible devices. We are already seeing some Galaxy S9 users getting the update in various regions. Galaxy Note 9 users haven’t been left behind either.
Android 10-based One UI 2.0 went live for the international variant the Galaxy Note 9 sometime earlier this month. US carriers like AT&T are now delivering the same.
As these other variants continue to receive the Android 10 update, Verizon, Sprint & T-Mobile variants of the same have been left out in the cold for some time.
While it is possible to manually flash and install the update on those models, it is a little out of reach for the average Joe and might be a little complicated for the casual smartphone user.
Luckily, these users might not have to wait for long for this update. This is according to a Reddit user, LTEX90, who has a good track record for supplying legit info about Samsung US carrier updates so far.
According to the new information, all US carriers have started rolling out the OTA update, albeit in phases. It further suggests that the update will be rolled out to the masses starting from February 2.
However, other reports hint towards the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 9 getting the update sometime in February, most likely from February 23.
This all started with a statement from T-Mobile that talked about Android multi-line settings transition to its T-Mobile DIGITS app. The notice suggested that the device would get an update on January 23, 2020. However, many feel like that might have been a mistake.
The reports carry some weight as it would make more sense if T-Mobile meant February 23. This would make the other leaks and rumors all fall into place, meaning we might indeed see these T-Mobile devices get the update in the third week of February.
We know for a fact that this Android 10 update will roll out to the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 9 and that it is in the works. As is the case with any OTA update, it always hits its intended devices eventually. This has been known to take up to a couple of weeks since the official rollout.
We advise all relevant device owners to be patient as they await the official rollout. We shall keep an eye on this story and update accordingly when we get more details.
