New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 24, 2020) follows:
Soon after rolling out Android 10 update to the Galaxy S10, Samsung revealed its official plans for various markets. At the time, the UK was promised to begin receiving the Galaxy S9 One UI 2.0 update in January 2020, but there was no specific date given.
Today, Samsung Galaxy S9 One UI 2.0 update is one of the most anticipated software rollouts. This is true because its closest counterpart, the Galaxy Note 9, has already been upgraded to Android 10.
We know that the Galaxy S9 One UI 2.0 update may begin rolling out over the weekend. This could be true for those on Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile carriers in the U.S. as well as folks in the Netherlands.
And now Samsung is giving out details of when to expect the OS to begin rolling out in even more countries in Europe and South America. To be more specific, the countries in question are the UK, Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, France, and Brazil.
Going by the info provided by Samsung through the Members app, the Galaxy S9 One UI 2.0 update will begin rolling out this January in the UK, Netherlands, Greece, and Turkey.
Of course, even if the OS begins rolling out as scheduled, not everyone in the said markets will get Android 10 on their S9 units by the end of January. Most people should get it in February, which is when folks in France can also expect it for the first time.
The wait, so it seems, will be way longer for owners of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in Brazil. Apparently, the One UI 2.0 update will arrive in April 2020, which is still a long way to go.
Of course, these dates are subject to change, so expect anything, including early or delayed rollouts. We will be here to let you know about it.
