The first time Xiaomi unveiled the Mi TV Early Access Program only a couple of Mi TV models were invited – the Mi TV 4A 32 and 43-inch models. At the time, back in July 2019, the update to Android 9 Pie was at stake.

Xiaomi has since rolled Android Pie TV to multiple Mi TVs, among them Mi TV 4A Pro as well as its 4K models, but for some reason there is still no space for the first-generation Mi TV 4 (55-inch).

what about the update for Mi tv first generation 55 inch.

what about MITV 4…. .old 55inch???

Owners of the old Mi TV 4 (55-inch) buried deep into the comments under the official announcement post are wondering when they’ll receive the Pie update, especially since they have not been considered for the latest edition of the Mi TV Early Access Program.

Selected Mi fans will receive emails for confirmation, so be sure to provide an active email address. You must also join the telegram group before January 28 or get locked out. You don’t want that because OTA permission will be given only after you join the group.

You can check out more details in the announcement post. But what remains unclear is what software Xiaomi wants owners of these TVs to try this time, especially since Android Pie is already out there. Is it Android 10? Your guess is as good as ours!
