New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on December 2, 2019) follows:
You can tout this year as the year of foldable devices. Notably, two major smartphone giants, Samsung and Huawei forayed in this territory for achieving something unique and innovative.
Well, firstly, we had already two time-released, Samsung Galaxy Fold and then, the Mate X from Huawei. Later on a few weeks back, Motorola came up with, what in my opinion is a more practical design with the Moto Razr.
Note that there are two versions of the Huawei Mate X i.e. 4G and 5G. And if you are the lucky owner of the $2,400 foldable device then, this piece of news might get you excited as the EMUI 10 internal beta testing has begun in China.
Keep in mind that this internal beta testing is only for the Huawei Mate X 4G and there is no slot for global users at this moment. Notably, 5G variant of this futuristic device got the beta version of EMUI 10 earlier.
For specs buff, the Huawei Mate X packs in the latest Kirin 980 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, a 4,500 mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging, and 8-inch foldable OLED display, and offers 512 GB of onboard storage.
In the camera department, you get a quad-camera setup with a 40 MP primary camera and interestingly due to the foldable screen, you can use the rear camera as the selfie camera.
Now coming back to the internal beta testing, this new update will bring new UI elements and faster performance for the device via EMUI 10 which is based on Android 9 Pie.
Below is the official announcement along with the screenshot of the same:
