Asus is almost rolling out the stable ROG Phone 2 Android 10 update. The gaming phone is now receiving the fifth iteration of Android 10 beta since tests started last year.

ROG Phone II owners interested to try Android 10 ahead of others were invited to join the beta program back in November 2019. Over a month later, the first ROG Phone 2 Android 10 beta update arrived.

The update came with a bunch of new Android 10-inspired features as well as many others from the Taiwanese company’s gaming division.

At the time, some early adopters also pointed out that bugs like red tint thingy that popped up a while back had been fixed, but we haven’t heard much about the developments since then.

Fast-forward to nearly a month later, the ROG Phone 2 Android 10 beta update is alive once again, this time with what is turning out to be the fifth beta update.

Yeah, that caught us off-guard too, but it seems during this short period of about a month, Asus has pushed five Android 10 beta firmware updates to the ROG Phone II. The latest is arriving as version 17.0210.1912.39 and it brings stability improvements and bug fixes.

1. Improved system stability
2. Improve accessory stability
3. Fix launcher setting issue.

    • Download: Beta 3 (17.0210.1912.32)
    • Rename to: UL-ASUS_I001_1-ASUS-17.0210.1912.32-1.1.34-user.zip
    • Download: Beta 4 (17.0210.1912.34)
    • Rename to: UL-ASUS_I001_1-ASUS-17.0210.1912.34-1.1.35-user.zip
    • Download: Beta 5 (17.0210.1912.39)
    • Rename to: UL-ASUS_I001_1-ASUS-17.0210.1912.39-1.1.40-user.zip

To install the firmware, rename the downloaded beta 5 above to UL-ASUS_I001_1-ASUS-17.0210.1912.39-1.1.40-user.zip then put it in the root of internal storage and restart the phone. For any other version, rename as instructed above.

With the release of the ROG Phone 2 Android 10 beta 5, there is no doubt Asus is getting closer to rolling out the stable version, perhaps in early February 2020. We will let you know when the rollout begins.
