Wireless earbuds have seen a sharp demand, thanks to all the new-generation smartphones that are ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack. There are a lot of Apple AirPods competitors out there, for instance, Samsung has its Galaxy Buds, Google has Pixel Buds, etc.
Talking about Google, it launched the first-gen Pixel Buds back in 2017 while the second-gen came out last year at the Made By Google 2019 event. Interestingly, as of now, there were no talks about the Pixel Buds 2020.
But, in a recent development, the Pixel Buds (2020) were spotted on the Bluetooth SIG listing and it reveals, two models – G1007 and G1008.
It is not sure whether we are going to get two Pixel Buds for 2020 or they are the same when you take them out of the battery case. Under the BSIG listing, the design description section states that:
Google Pixel buds deliver rich audio, clear calls, and hands‑free help from the Google Assistant. They are designed for your comfort, based on scans of thousands of ears. The customized, secure fit while the ambient vent keeps you open to the world around you.
Moreover, under the hood, the Bluetooth hardware is seemingly made by Bestechnic, instead of a Qualcomm chip and also the Pixel Buds (2020) supports the Bluetooth 5.0.
Without any tentative date for the launch, we can expect Google Pixel Buds (2020) to come out somewhere around May at the Google I/O event following the previous years’ pattern. We will keep you in the loop once we have more information in this regard.
